The Cupertino-based technology giant announced that it achieved a record $94.8 billion in revenue and $24 billion in profit in the March quarter. Apple has opened two Apple Stores in India – Apple BKC in Mumbai and Apple Saket in New Delhi – both opened by Tim Cook himself.

According to Cook, India has set a quarterly record, growing at a strong “double-digit annual rate” and presents a great opportunity for Apple. “India is an incredibly exciting market. That is an important focus for us. I was just there and the dynamism, the liveliness of the market is incredible, he added. Apple is also happy to do business with its numerous channel partners in the country.

During the Q2 earnings call, Cook expressed his excitement about Indians’ enthusiasm for the brand, and both Apple Stores are off to a flying start. “I really feel like India is at a turning point and it’s great to be there,” Cook said.
